HAPPY NEW DECADE!!!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year even though it IS the second day of the year. May your best day of 2009 be only half as good as your worst day of 2010!

As my time constraints should be lifted soon with the grand finale of Inventory, that gives me more free time to heal my mental wounds from the battle of the past two months. With that time I have some goals to work toward. I dare not call them "resolutions" because to do so would doom them to failure before I began.

I intend to work toward the goal of reading for enjoyment again. I have quite a few books to get through that I've allowed to set and collect dust. I realized it would not be the best to start off with Tolkien's "Silmarillion" because I'd spend the entire year just getting through that alone. I'm more than likely going to go through one of my Pratchett's first as I know he's amusing enough to keep me going long enough to built up momentum.

Back to artwork! I'm also going to push harder on my artwork again because I don't need to become that "I used to draw too!" guy. I'm even going to give myself a set schedule for days to draw stuff. I'm going to aim to do something tangibly artistic on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I may not necessarily complete what I do, but I will be doing something. Quality over quantity.

It will also be a daunting battle but I will try to be more positive this year. I realized that life is a series of events and their impact is guided by your perception of them. I mean if I deal with some unruly, name-calling, griefer, I'm not going to let their nonsensical hoop-ti-doo annoy me. I'm going to endeavor to enjoy the fact that 1.) I'm not them. 2.) I probably won't ever meet them again during their short, twisted, gnarled-up lives. 3.) I now have something to talk about with my finacee when I go home at night.

There's more but I may go into those at a different time.

I guess fiancee-to-be if you want to get technical. On Dec. 23rd I gave Christy a promise ring to show my commitment to her. Right now, we're both getting ourselves better financially situated before getting married.

So yeah, I plan on sticking with her for the long haul. ^_,^
